PILOT Light – Call for Submissions

29 06 2010

Call for submissions for…

An evening of barely organised theatrical chaos!

PILOT Light is a brand new Birmingham event offering a very informal performance space for your untested and unpolished ideas. It’s an opportunity for theatre artists from the West Midlands to test out 5-15 minutes of work that is right at the beginning of its developmental process in front of a curious, confused and courageous audience. It’s also a chance to find out who else is doing what in the area, and make new creative connections.

We don’t want finished performances, but starting points, talking points, passion and potential – PILOT Light brings like-minded people together to try stuff out and get feedback. It is a space in which to make mistakes.

So if you’ve got something that you’ve wanted to try for ages, or had an idea for PILOT but don’t think it’s ready yet, then get in touch. We are looking for excerpts of up to 15 minutes in length to be part of the first ever PILOT Light at The Victoria Pub, Birmingham on 15th July from 7:30pm

Please email your proposals to PILOTlight@mail.com by 1st July, with the following information:

Contact/Company Name:
Description of idea (max 200 words):
Length of performance (15 minutes max):
Number and names of all people involved:
Estimate of travel expenses (we have a small budget for travel expenses that will be shared between participants).

Successful applicants will receive email confirmation by Monday 5th July.

Please get in touch if you have any questions and we look forward to your exciting submissions…

Pilot Light is produced by Katherine Goodenough and Katharine Kavanagh,
and supported by PILOT, Kindle Theatre and China Plate.
